Dr. Christopher Prescod, Psy.D
3/27/2012 10:41:23 am

Ms. Woods, I know that this may be extremely late, but that really doesn't matter! Anyway, is the intelligence essay supposed to be double-spaced or single-spaced? I will try to fix the assignment based on what you desire for it to be. Thank you so much!

A woods
3/27/2012 10:45:51 am

Double spaced @ chris. Yes @ virginia.

Dr. Christopher Prescod, Ph. D
3/27/2012 10:51:14 am

Thank you so much, Ms. Woods! I really appreciate this!

A Woods
3/28/2012 07:58:54 am

Lets get started...

A Woods
3/28/2012 08:00:47 am

The test will be 50 questions m/c on chapters 8-11 and one short answer question. 75-80% of the test will be on chapters 8 and 9. The only thing you really need to know about chapter 11 is the formula for discovering a person's iq

Tamera Cunningham
3/28/2012 08:00:48 am

Here..

A Woods
3/28/2012 08:01:13 am

Tamera
3/28/2012 08:01:49 am

Dr. Christopher Prescod, Psy.D
3/28/2012 08:03:28 am

Christopher Prescod is here!

A Woods
3/28/2012 08:04:19 am

chapter 8 terms? ready?
classical conditioning, operant conditioning, and observational learning. Skinner, Pavlov, and Bandura (and their experiments). The difference between negative reinforcement and punishment. Schedules of reinforcement and type of reinforcers.

Tariah Gatlin
3/28/2012 08:04:36 am

Tamera isn't the only one that wants extra credit ms. Woods lol

A Woods
3/28/2012 08:05:03 am

A Woods
3/28/2012 08:05:40 am

I see... @ tariah

A Woods
3/28/2012 08:07:09 am

Also from chapter 8: 5 steps of classical conditioning, 3 steps of learning, and generalization vs discrimination

Dr. Christopher Prescod, Psy.D; Harvard University Summa Cum Laude; Stephenson High School 2012-2013 Valedictorian
3/28/2012 08:07:11 am

Ms. Woods, is it imperative for me to keep refreshing the browser just to see new comments?

J.Edwards
3/28/2012 08:08:04 am

What are the main objectives we need to go over for chapters 8 and 9?

A Woods
3/28/2012 08:08:10 am

Latent learning too... lol! I looking at the test right now.

A Woods
3/28/2012 08:09:35 am

Unfortunately, yes @ chris. Any questions before I move on to chapter 9?

Dr. Christopher Prescod, Psy.D; Harvard University Summa Cum Laude; Stephenson High School 2012-2013 Valedictorian
3/28/2012 08:09:57 am

This is already such a great interactive study session, Ms. Woods! Great job!

Tatyana G
3/28/2012 08:11:31 am

Here!!

A Woods
3/28/2012 08:13:37 am

Ok, Chapter 9: 3 steps of information processing, the magical #7 and what it refers to, short-term and long term memory, Herman Ebbinghaus, encoding effects (like serial position and spacing), semantic encoding, mnemonic devices...the whole list. lol

Jrew
3/28/2012 08:13:49 am

alright time to get this extra credit

Jerusha
3/28/2012 08:13:51 am

i am here

A Woods
3/28/2012 08:15:39 am

Hi tatyana. Thanks for joining us. Long term potentiation, implicit and explicit memory and where they are located in the brain, and the kinds of retrieval (recall, recognition, and relearning).

Jessica M.
3/28/2012 08:17:13 am

I'm here!

Dr. Christopher Prescod, Psy.D; Harvard University Summa Cum Laude; Stephenson High School 2012-2013 Valedictorian
3/28/2012 08:17:19 am

Go ahead, Ms. Woods! Enlighten your Advanced Placement College Preparatory Psychology students about what this comprehensive test will contain.

A Woods
3/28/2012 08:17:51 am

Retrieval cues and their importance and priming. Also, you will need to know that forgetting can be a failure of encoding, storage, or retrieval and how to identify examples of that.

A Woods
3/28/2012 08:18:51 am

retroactive and proactive interference is tricky! But you need to know both and how to identify examples as well.

A Woods
3/28/2012 08:20:30 am

Freud and repressed memories, memory construction, misinformation effect, and source amnesia. Eyewitness accounts, children's recall, and elizabeth's loftus experiment.

Dr. Christopher Prescod, Psy.D; Harvard University Summa Cum Laude; Stephenson High School 2012-2013 Valedictorian
3/28/2012 08:21:18 am

Ms. Woods, I know that this is extremely irrelevant and problematic, but what university did you attend?

A Woods
3/28/2012 08:21:27 am

If this all sounds like greek... you've got some studying to do. :)
Ready for Chapter 10?

Tariah Gatlin
3/28/2012 08:21:50 am

So the only thing on chapter 11 is the short answer question?

A Woods
3/28/2012 08:22:12 am

Absolutely irrelevant... LOL! University of North Carolina

A Woods
3/28/2012 08:22:47 am

Yep @ Tariah

Dr. Christopher Prescod, Psy.D; Harvard University Summa Cum Laude; Stephenson High School 2012-2013 Valedictorian
3/28/2012 08:23:57 am

I'm sorry for distracting you, but that is a GREAT school!

J.Edwards
3/28/2012 08:24:59 am

Yes. What will we need to study in chapter 11 for the short answer question.

A Woods
3/28/2012 08:25:00 am

Chapter 10 it is....
Definition of cognition, the difference between availiability heuristics and representative heuristics, algorithm, prototypes, insights, and confirmation bias.

A Woods
3/28/2012 08:25:35 am

@ chris.... Yes it is.

Nyeja !!
3/28/2012 08:26:12 am

I am here , better late then never !!
thanks Ms woods tho !

Jamila J
3/28/2012 08:26:46 am

Milly here!

Dr. Christopher Prescod, Psy.D; Harvard University Summa Cum Laude; Stephenson High School 2012-2013 Valedictorian
3/28/2012 08:26:55 am

It's amazing how you're still ALIVE, especially after all that harsh athletic conditioning and temperature problems in your freshman room!

Jaisen
3/28/2012 08:27:59 am

Ms. Woods is always going around, or just not answering my questions. -__-

A Woods
3/28/2012 08:28:07 am

Study all of the thinking influences from your notes and you should do well. Also, pay attention to the information on Language as it relates to grammar, semantics, and syntax. Knowing the stages (babbling, 1 word, 2 word, etc.) wouldn't hurt either.

O'Neilia Francis
3/28/2012 08:28:41 am

Ms. Woods, I am confused with the difference between negative reinforcement and punishment.

A Woods
3/28/2012 08:29:26 am

Still ignoring Jaisen..... :). JK. I answered it already hun.... scroll up and reread.

Jessica M.
3/28/2012 08:30:49 am

Thanks so much for the info. Ms. Woods!

Jaisen
3/28/2012 08:32:46 am

But the information you just gave was dealing with chapter 10 not 11 (babbling, 1 word etc..)

A Woods
3/28/2012 08:33:05 am

Me too girl.... @ ms. francis. Lol! Alright *cracks finger*.... Negative reinforcement is going to present something undesirable in order to increase the likelihood of a behavior occuring. Whereas punishment is removing something desirable in order to decrease the likelihood of it occuring. So i'm drinking this horrible tea because i lost my voice yesterday.... what's that?

Dr. Christopher Prescod, Psy.D; Harvard University Summa Cum Laude; Stephenson High School 2012-2013 Valedictorian
3/28/2012 08:33:58 am

Yeah, thanks so much for the beneficial information, Ms. Woods! Okay everyone, meeting adjourned. Oh wait, I cant declare that because I am not the host. Wow, I really have to stop switching roles between student and teacher sometimes.

A Woods
3/28/2012 08:34:28 am

Omg @ Jaisen... Tariah tell him what the short answer question is....

Tatyana
3/28/2012 08:36:05 am

The only thing I see for short answer is chapter 11....your not gonna go into some details Ms. Woods????

A Woods
3/28/2012 08:36:07 am

You are right @ chris.. MEETING ADJOURNED! Happy studying... I'm off to walk puppy. You will all receive the additional 10 pts. See ya tomorrow and good luck.

Tamera
3/28/2012 08:36:49 am

Is that Negative Reinforcement?

A Woods
3/28/2012 08:38:19 am

Correct. That's negative.

A Woods
3/28/2012 08:37:29 am

You are right! @ chris.... MEETING ADJOURNED! You will all received the 10 additional points. Im off to walk puppy. Happy studying!

Dr. Christopher Prescod, Psy.D; Harvard University Summa Cum Laude; Stephenson High School 2012-2013 Valedictorian
3/28/2012 08:38:18 am

Bye, Ms. Woods! I hope your voice gets better and tell puppy that I said don't urinate and deficate on the carpet. Instead, he should go to his designated area in your house.
